Alison was a fantastic help in our search for a nanny. Having never had a nanny before we were a bit daunted by the prospect of becoming employers and finding the right person but Alison made it all very easy, answered all our questions and completely understood our needs and dynamic. It was great to place our trust in her as she really knows her stuff and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.
Rebecca, Didsbury (2019)
I needed a nanny and how no idea where to start. I called Alison at The Manchester Nanny Agency and instantly felt I’d made the right decision. Alison was so helpful and guided us through the process, taking all the stress out of it. All of the nannies we interviewed were fantastic and we would have been happy to employ any of them. Alison was always on hand to help and even after we’d chosen our Nanny, Alison was on hand for advice and kept in touch to make sure we had everything we needed. I can’t recommend The Manchester Nanny Agency enough.
Verity, Didsbury (Jan 2019)
Having never employed a Nanny before, I was nervous and unsure about the process. I needn’t have been worried, as Alison was there every step of the way. She was kind, helpful and incredibly knowledgeable. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company. Our new Nanny has slotted into our household perfectly, and I for one are feeling the benefit, of having an extra pair of hands.
Angela Watcyn Jones, Sale
For medical reasons I needed a nanny as soon as possible for a few months. Alison was so helpful, she found me the perfect nanny for our needs, very quickly. She helped me through the interview stage, with sorting out the payroll and also made sure that both my family and our nanny were happy with everything. My husband and I both think the fee was money well spent for peace of mind, making the whole thing as easy as possible, and finding us such a great nanny! We have decided that we would like a nanny in the longer term (our current nanny is only free for a few months sadly), but Alison will be our first port of call when we start looking again.
Alison Donaldson, Sale
"Alison has been absolutely fantastic at providing guidance and support through firstly thinking about employing a nanny, and answering many questions. She then sourced two excellent candidates, either of which would have been great, but we're extremely happy with our new nanny! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this service!"
Lauren, Sale
"Fantastic agency. Alison gave me frequent updates on the process and found a very experienced, kind, caring and enthusiastic nanny to help look after my children. Highly recommend."
Helen, Timperley
"I would highly recommend this nanny agency. I needed after school care when my regular full time nanny was leaving. I needed fairly difficult hours but Alison was optimistic she could help and took time to really understand our requirements. At all time she kept in regular communication and was professional and really pleasant and easy to deal with. The 2 nannies I have met through the agency were of a high standard and we have employed one (indeed my old fantastic nanny was also registered here). I would highly recommend using this agency and if we need any further childcare in the future I would use as my first choice again."
Joanna, Wilmslow
"Thank you so much for providing such a terrific, professional service. You listened carefully to my requirements and found the perfect person."
Gaby, London
"Alison was wonderful helping me find an after school nanny. She responded to all my phone and email queries promptly and professionally. Her wealth of experience was vital in finding the right nanny for us, and the one she matched us to is an absolute gem.
Alison...I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you again for finding us Ellie. She is absolutely amazing, a real gem, and has transformed our lives. I never thought I would ever see my boys eating vegetables let alone asking to have peas and carrots and she has accomplished this is just two months! She is wonderful. Thank you for all your help finding us the right nanny, and for your professionalism in responding so promptly to phone calls and emails during the matching process."
Ellie, Chorlton
"We approached the Manchester nanny agency to source a nanny for our son.
The agency's service was excellent. Alison always got back to us quickly and helped us understand the system, including our duties as employers. The agency's approach was expedient and we were provided with a bespoke shortlist of applicants tailored to our requirements.
We would highly recommend the Manchester nanny agency."
Matthew Hird, Didsbury
"Hi Alison - Thank you and the team at Network 0-5 so much for the last 14 years !!! of excellent service in looking after my five children from young toddlers to young teenagers, my only regret is they have grown up so quickly and I simply don't require the service any more! Would not hesitate in recommending you to anyone. Thanks again."
Mark Oliver, Hale
"I would highly recommend Network 0-5 (which unlike its name is for any child of any age!) Our request to Network 0 to 5 was for an immediate placement as our previous Nanny had walked out with no notice and my partner and I work full time.
Alison was extremely calming, supportive and receptive to my frantic call and within 24 hours allocated the perfect Nanny for our family - she could start within 4 working days which was music to our ears.
We are a very 'down to earth' family with no particular 'airs & graces', live quite an ordinary busy life in a house being renovated and wanted a Nanny who could fit in to our 'earth' family - our Nanny is just that.
I found other Agencies quite snooty! Wonderful!"
Sarah Morgan, Whitegate, Cheshire
"I approached Alison with an outline of what we needed. Whilst some thought I was asking for the moon on a stick and unlikely to get anywhere with my list of requirements and my tight timescale, Alison was very reassuring and encouraging. She explained various options clearly, was forthcoming with advice and set realistic expectations. Significantly, within a very short space of time three excellent candidates were put forward to us. All in all, a very professional yet friendly response with excellent client service!"
Our nanny is doing a fantastic job and has fitted in really well with us all. The kids love her too which is brilliant - thanks for finding her and putting her our way! We really couldn't do what we do without her."
Mrs. B, Cheadle
"My wife and I used Network 0-5 over a long period of time from when our twin boys were very small - 3 or 4 - right through till when they were twelve. Every single time we needed a babysitter, often at short notice, they ALWAYS found us one, and the people on their books were all incredibly professional and extremely nice. We never once had any problems at all. Alison who runs the company always responded very quickly and was keen to help. For example, we needed to set up a slightly more complicated arrangement of someone to pick the children up from infant school and take them home two days a week, and she gave us several great options. I would thoroughly endorse and recommend her company."
Jim Poyser, Chorlton
"Thanks to Alison at 0 to 5 I could bring my infant son with me from London to work long hours at Media City on many occasions this year. I could nurse him and spend time with him during all my breaks which was an invaluable experience for us both. All the nannies that cared for him were outstanding and Alison gave continuity where possible. She worked at short notice for me and was very flexible as were all the nannies in her team. I highly recommend her and all at 0 to 5 and will always contact them as my first priority when staying in Manchester."
Jemilah Findlay
"I have used Alison's service over a period of 10 years on and off. I have always found Alison to be helpful and efficient in providing me with very appropriate babysitters as well as sourcing a very suitable Nanny for our family. Alison was really good at assessing our particular family needs and only referred potential candidates that would be able to meet those particular needs and fit well with our family. I would have no hesitation in recommending Alison and her business in this regard."
Marie Louise Devitt, Hale
"I contacted Alison as I was looking for a full-time nanny who could be flexible and stay overnight occasionally, as well as help out with household chores as I would be working full-time. Alison totally understood what I was looking for, and sent me a number of suitable CVs. She managed the process professionally and sensitively and I am absolutely delighted with the nanny Alison found for us. I would definitely recommend Network 0-5 for any childcare search."
Kirstie Bumstead, Hale
"Network 0-5 came on recommendation to us from another family at my daughter's school. Right from the start Alison was very approachable and I met up with her to discuss my family's requirements. She put my mind at ease.
My husband and myself were apprehensive at first about changing childcare provider and especially someone in our home. Alison was able to discuss our childcare options, compare the finances and at no point did I feel pressurised or pushed into making a decision.
I cannot praise her enough. Once we decided to get a nanny she was there every step of the way. CVs and advice on who she thought would be appropriate, help with interview queries even up to the last minute!
At every step of the way we have felt supported and guided by Alison who is very experienced and one of the easiest people to talk to. Even after we hired our nanny she has been there to help us with any queries.
In January 2014 our nanny started. She works part time, 26 hrs a week. What a difference to our lives, I get to see my children and spend quality time with them on the days I work as I no longer rush from work to after school clubs to nurseries and then home to cook.
I would highly recommend Network 0-5 to anyone considering hiring a nanny."
Mrs. Alvi, Chorlton
"Network 0 to 5 found 2 different part-time nannies for us. One in 2008 and one in 2013. Network 0 to 5 was always prompt, helpful and completely effective, and I recommend it to everyone I know. We needed to find both nannies at short notice and the unfailingly swift response from Network 0 to 5 was a big help. Alison assessed our needs and preferences accurately, and took care of all the administrative tasks she could: for example, collating a long list of suitable candidates, their CVs and references; fully arranging interviews of the candidates that we shortlisted; chasing the referees that I did not immediately reach by phone and helping to arrange phone interviews with them; help with legal aspects as we learnt to be an employer, and helping with Ofsted registration.
She was always easy to get hold of and talk to and managed everything calmly and efficiently. The pressure from our jobs made finding nannies at short notice extremely stressful. Network 0 to 5 reduced this stress in every way possible."
Douda Bensasson, Chorlton
"My community midwife recommended Network 0-5 to me as a great agency in my local area (I live in Didsbury). I contacted Alison when my son was 3 months old, looking for part-time nanny support in advance of me returning to work on a part-time basis. Network 0-5 was brilliant in understanding my requirements for a nanny, the first nanny she proposed I interviewed and found an instant fit! We needed a replacement nanny when our first nanny developed a back problem. Again Alison identified a number of options for a replacement nanny within very tight timescales and I quickly found someone that suited us perfectly. I had the utmost confidence that Network 0-5 quickly understood our requirements, family and budget and found two super nannies who were perfect for our needs. Thank you Network 0-5!"
Sally Tang, Didsbury
"We recently required a last minute babysitter to mind 2 babies at a wedding reception. We had flown over from Australia to attend the wedding and at the last minute discovered that we didn’t have any childcare and may have to leave the wedding early. I contacted Network 0 to 5 in the morning and in a few short hours they found a fantastic babysitter for us that could attend the reception venue and mind our children. The fees were very reasonable and the service and professionalism was impeccable and the babysitter was brilliant. I would highly recommend Network 0 to 5 for anyone wanting a babysitter."
Georgia Quinn, Melbourne, Australia
"I recently travelled to Manchester/Cheshire for a large family wedding, I needed a babysitter for my two young children, having said that I wanted someone trustworthy and known to be fully CRB checked etc.
Alison at the 0to5 agency was extremely helpful, this was a short notice request and also unsociable hours as we needed a sitter from late in the evening until early hours of the morning. Although contacting a good handful of agencies, Alison was the first to get back to me with options and was also reasonably priced both agency fee and baby sitting price.
The babysitter/nanny I had was called Sarah, her CV was wonderful, she had children of her own and plenty of experience. Sarah was warm and kind and put me at ease about leaving my children in her care.
If I am ever visiting Manchester again I would definitely use these services or recommend them to anyone I know. Thank you both to Alison and Sarah."
Charlotte Herman, London
"We were recommended Alison Brownlee at Network 0 to 5 when we were looking for a nanny/support worker for our children who have complex additional needs. We knew we were looking for someone out of the ordinary, but Alison was happy to rise to the challenge. We had good liaison throughout the whole recruitment process and Alison was able to advise us on the various aspects we needed to consider.
We are thrilled with our wonderful nanny/support worker whom we recruited, thanks to Alison. We have had her for just over a year now and during that time we have been able to contact Alison for any ongoing employment advice, which has been very useful indeed.
We warmly recommend Alison Brownlee and Network 0 to 5. We would most definitely use their services again."
Mrs Lowe
"I would be more than happy to recommend Alison and her service. She gave us excellent advice regarding our flexible childcare needs and found us the perfect person for the job."
Liz Newby, Didsbury
"On several occasions I have turned to Alison to assist in placing a nanny with my family. She has always managed to locate just the right person for my family. I have 4 children of school age. It requires a nanny of particular competence and reliability to successfully negotiate all of their needs. In addition, as I work between Manchester and London my nanny needs to be flexible enough to stay overnight when necessary. Whenever I contact Alison she attends to my requests immediately and I cannot fault her approach and, importantly, her results."
Kate Rogelj, Didsbury
"Network 0 to 5 helped enormously in finding the right kind of help for our family’s needs. We wanted a mother's help for 6 months and on a flexible, part-time basis. Alison worked hard to find the right person for us and we ended up interviewing two very good candidates. When our mother’s help finally came to into our family she fitted in straight away and our kids absolutely loved her from the word go. We had never had someone working with us before but have not looked back. We would definitely recommend the services of Network 0 to 5 over and above other agencies as the service we received from Alison was friendly, professional and she worked very hard to find us the right person for our very individual needs."

"Alison and Network 0 to 5 have been great over the last four years since we moved here from London. With 3 kids and both my husband and I in full time work, reliability and responsiveness are important to us and Alison has never let us down. She has a strong network of well qualified babysitters and has also been able to help on temporary nanny cover. We don't need to look any further for childcare."
Wilmslow mother and VP at AstraZenenca
"I have 3 children and have used a number of nanny agencies in the North West over the past 9 years however, none have continually secured repeat appointments and delivered the right candidates time after time except Network 0 to 5. Network 0 to 5 is the only agency, in my experience, to provide a reliable, fair and timely service. Alison is a true professional who endeavours to understand your individual needs and is able to select candidates to fit them. Network 0 to 5 are diligent in chasing up references and conducting police checks. If I have a childcare requirement in the future I would always call Alison at Network 0 to 5 first."Louise Oakes, Alderley Edge
"Our first contact with Alison Brownlee of Network 0 to 5 was when I returned home with 3 week old twins and my right arm in a full plaster. These were our first children and we had no idea what help we needed, or how to go about finding it. Alison managed to assess the situation rapidly and made very pragmatic suggestions about what would be helpful. She initially found us a night nanny who had special care baby unit experience which was just what we needed with premature twins, and later an experienced “mum” who gave us lots of practical tips. As things settled down and my husband went back to work, Alison again responded rapidly to another distress call and found us an absolute gem, who helped me with establishing a day time routine and early weaning advice. If I've had any queries over employment issues Alison has always been very happy to advise based on her wealth of experience which has had positive results every time. I have found Alison to be highly professional, responsive and very helpful in all our dealings with her organisation and would not hesitate it recommending her."
Clare, Mobberley
"I have used Network 0 to 5 since 2005 for both nannies and babysitters and have found them to be extremely professional, helpful and reliable. They know their candidates very well and are able to provide invaluable advice when recruiting. Turnaround times are always excellent and I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality childcare on a permanent, temporary or babysitting basis."
Susan Ellacott, Wilmslow
"Network 0 to 5 is a professional, friendly service and worth every penny. Alison matched us up with a brilliant nanny, at short notice. She really listened to what we needed and took all the stress and work out of finding an experienced nanny that we can absolutely trust. Going with a nanny for childcare was a big decision for us at the time, and Alison made this choice as easy as could be, and we haven't regretted it for a moment since."
Douda, Chorlton
"I have used Network 0 to 5 to help find both nannies and babysitters for my two boys for 11 years and Alison at Network 0 to 5 has always been successful in helping me find the right person. In this time period we have had I think five different nannies – it’s always a wrench when they leave but each time Alison has helped me recruit someone suitable. She goes through CVs carefully and has only ever sent me suitable candidates and she is good at assessing who might be a good fit for our family. Her referencing of candidates has always proved to be thorough and careful too which is absolutely essential when you are going to be placing your children in someone else’s care. I have also made use of Network 0 to 5’s babysitting service over the last 11 years. Alison has never failed to find me a babysitter and once again babysitters are thoroughly vetted by the agency. I am happy to recommend the services of Network 0 to 5."
Jennifer Raffle, Altrincham
"After tragedy left me looking after my 3 year old daughter on my own, Network 0 to 5 were a great support providing me with consistently high quality after school carers."
David, Didsbury
"As the full time working mother of two school age children, one of whom has special needs, having the right childcare is critical to my sanity and to my family’s happiness. For the last seven years, Alison has helped us make sure this all important support has been in place, no matter how challenging the requirements. As a result, I have no hesitation in recommending Network 0 to 5 to anyone looking for support in sourcing the right childcare for their family."

"We used Network 0 to 5 to find our last nanny and were extremely pleased with the service offered. Alison was very friendly and helpful throughout and clearly knew each nanny very well. With Alison’s help we found a wonderful a nanny, who we and both of our children adore. I would happily recommend Network 0 to 5 as a stress free way of finding a super nanny."
Nicky High, Didsbury
"I was recommended Network 0 to 5 by a good friend, but admit I thought it was an impossible task to find suitable childcare for my son and to fit in with my work pattern. I wanted someone of a high calibre for weekend and some night work and I needed flexibility too. Alison really took on board my needs and worked really hard to find the right childcare for me. She didn't stop looking until I was totally happy I had the right nanny and right babysitter and I thoroughly recommend this fantastic service!"
Suzi Illston, Hale, Altrincham
"Since registering with Network 0 to 5 we have really appreciated that we are able to consider evenings out without first worrying about babysitter availability. More than that we have had the comfort that our children are being cared for by experienced, competent, trustworthy, down to earth ladies who understand and appreciate our children's needs. We have found the service both professionally run and very flexible and would highly recommend it!"
Di and Dan Jones, Wilmslow
"Network 0 to 5 is a fantastic nanny agency. I found Alison to be extremely helpful and communicative. She put me in touch with lots of nannies and she helped me to select the best candidate for my specific requirements. I was very happy with the service provided and I am very happy with my chosen nanny."

There are lots of different childcare options out there, and nannies can really be a hugely practical and perfect solution for many families. And far more cost effective than you might ever imagine.
Nannies can work in so many different ways. They can be full time or part time, covering anything from over 50 hours a week right down to just a single day or even just a few hours a day. You can find nannies for before and after school, holidays, weekends, nights, days and emergencies.
And you certainly don’t need to be working full time to have a nanny… even if you work on an ad hoc basis or maybe shifts, a nanny can be the answer.
They can offer bags of flexibility, crucial if you don’t work a 9 to 5 job. And because they come to you they really can help take the stress out of the work and family balancing act.
Imagine no more juggling nursery and school runs on your way to and from work, bundling the children up and out with you in the morning to get to the nursery or childminder on time, rushing to get back from work in time for pick ups, or taking time off when your child is ill.
Nannies are there for you... working the hours you need... dedicated to providing safe, fun and stimulating care on a one to one basis for your children in your own home – following your routines and lifestyle and working to your timetable. They can provide a continuity of care that is hard to match.
Nannies provide an appealing blend of home based care for your children coupled with getting out and about, socialising with other children and enjoying plenty of varied activities, indoor and out. They will take planning and preparing play and educational activities in their stride, along with doing any school or nursery runs, taking children to appointments and activities, helping with homework, even working weekends and babysitting.
Nannies will care for all the children in the family regardless of age, from newborn to teenage!
And not only that but they will cook, clean and generally keep your home in order too.
Nannies can be OFSTED registered so you can access childcare vouchers, tax credits and financial help, just as you can with childminders and nurseries.
You can even share nannies with another family... a really flexible, affordable solution for many families. Or, consider a nanny with her own child. This can be a lovely solution in many cases.
If all this sounds like a nanny could be the answer, and your perfect childcare solution, just get in touch to talk it all through.
It can be hard when your well thought out childcare arrangements break down or you just find yourself suddenly in need of help, even on an adhoc basis. We will always do everything we can to come up with an immediate solution that works for you.
Maternity nannies are there to step in and support you immediately after the birth. They will help with routines, sleeping and feeding and be a invaluable source of advice. They can be available for as long as you need, and we particularly have flexible maternity nannies who will happily do occasional/ad hoc nights or even days.
Postnatal doulas typically start working with with a family in the first few months after birth, but some doulas do work with families with older babies too. Postnatal doulas are booked antenatally, for instance when a family finds they are struggling or feel the need for more support. The length of time a postnatal doula spends with a family varies enormously... from the initial 6-8 weeks, to years in some cases.
Postnatal doulas provide emotional, practical and informational support. This support varies enormously, and they are there to support the family. This can be help around the house, looking after baby while mum (and her partner) nap, helping with older siblings, making meals, helping with dinner time or the school run, helping overnight so the parents get more sleep.
we have a great deal of experience with this. It needn’t be as difficult to solve as you may be led to believe! A lot may depend on the total sum of your requirements. If you need before and after school care, full time childcare during all school holidays, standby care in case of emergencies and possibly some element of housekeeping, then this may well be a style of job that will appeal to nannies.
Even if you just need very part time out of school care then again it is possible - it may be that the small amount of work you are offering may well link up with some other part time work the nanny has, or it may be suitable for a teaching assistant or similar, or possibly a nanny with her own child or an older semi-retired person who only wants part time work with a low level of hours.
Looking to make the great escape?!
Our network of babysitters are there to give you the freedom to go out for that hard earned night and relax in the knowledge that your children are in the hands of one of our safe and trusted babysitters.
Evenings, weekends - at home or away - our babysitters are also there for hotels, weddings, events and family occasions at any venue.
Our babysitters have years of childcare experience behind them. They are all interviewed, checked and vetted by us. And they include qualified, experienced nannies, primary and nursery school teachers, medical students, maternity nurses and registered childminders.
Get in touch... tell us what you need... we can help.

Juggling home and children?
Cleaning, laundry, shopping, cooking, errands... a nanny housekeeper will do all this and more. And be there for the children too, taking and collecting from school or nursery, stepping up in school holidays, and on hand if your children are unexpectedly off school.
Daily or live in, full time or part time (even just a few hours or a single day) and permanent or temporary… it’s all possible.
We know many families would like the security that comes from having the same and trusted cleaner or home help rather than a succession of different faces though an agency.
Maybe you’re looking for that all rounder who can help with your business and keep your home and children organized too?
Someone with childcare and home experience, coupled with office, IT and great communication skills, could be just the answer.
Juggling school holidays and work? Children off school while you’re still working?
Or even looking to take a nanny away with you on a family holiday?
We have great nannies, teachers and university graduates who are there to help.
Weekend nannies can give a much needed extra pair of hands at times when you’re juggling the needs of different children. A weekend nanny can help ferry the children around or stay at home with younger ones while you get out and about.
